Internal reciever

The person or people in your own organization who take over responsibility for the project results after delivery.

• The internal receiver is responsible for continued activities, such as internal operation and administration
• Familiarizes him/herself with the project’s results and business objectives
• Provides comments throughout the project
• Takes over the responsibility for the project results after delivery
• Informs the company and the customer when transfer has occurred and about new contact pathways and contact people
• Receives and is responsible for the list of remaining items
• Receives comments on the project’s results from the organization and the end customer, if any
• Assesses the business objectives, if this has been agreed on with the project sponsor.

The internal receiver has the vital task of securing the project’s “life after delivery,” usually a long time when the results will be used. It is important to name someone as the receiver of the project delivery for the project to be finished in time so that its participants can move on.

The internal receiver is also a natural sounding board for the project manager regarding details like the criteria for closure.
